A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
